Congratulations!

Congratulations to our winners of the Nintendo Wii and Wii Fit! To the rest of the participants who entered to win the prize - thank you for attending our events - we hope you enjoyed yourselves!

Thunderbird - May 30

Miga gets a big hug from this little Spiderman as a thank you and goodbye. Miga, Quatchi, and Sumi receive many hugs and high-fives from fans both young and old at Thunderbird CC.

Killarney - May 23

This event participant successfully attempts our Winter Olympics memory game. While this game only includes nine of the 2010 Winter Games sports, it still gave players a challenge.

Ray-Cam - May 9

This participant is trying to avoid going out of bounds as he downhill skis on the Nintendo Wii. Perhaps he'll prefer Shaun White Snowboarding or bobsled in Winter Sports II.

Trout Lake - April 18

Participants sign the Canada flag to wish our 2010 athletes good luck during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games. LET'S GO FOR THE GOLD!

Britannia - April 4, 2009

Sumi gives it a shot in goal against this participant. Looks like this player going to sneak it past wing-side! Maybe next time, Sumi.

While Sumi may not be in net again...try out our hot shots shooter tutor at the next event. See if you can score stick-side, glove-side, or five-hole with three shots on goal!

Hastings - March 28, 2009

Ever tried curling? This indoor table top version of the Olympic sport is a hoot! Try a draw into the house or a hit and roll - its up to you and your opponent. Not sure what this youngster has in mind, but he has his work cut out for him against one of our volunteers.

Thanks to the BC Sports Hall of Fame for allowing us to use their equipment for all 10 events!

Renfrew Park - March 7, 2009

At Renfrew Park Community Centre, participants got an added treat - great community performances. Above is a picture of the Snowflake Dancers, dancing in celebration of the coming 2010 Winter Games.

Champlain Heights - February 21, 2009

At Champlain Heights, participants were able to meet the Vancouver 2010 mascots: Quatchi, Sumi and Miga. Here they are checking out the arts & crafts activities, which included making medals, decorating paper hockey sweaters, and creating mini skiers & snowboarders out of pipecleaners and popsicle sticks.

Mount Pleasant - February 7, 2009

Our bouncy castle has also been a big hit. From the preschoolers to the pre-teens, everyone loves a good bounce in an inflatable castle. This is just another way that we can encourage activity and participation for our event goers. Also, its lots of fun - speaking from experience!

Just remember to take off your shoes and be courteous to your fellow bouncers...and time goes fast!

The Nintendo Wii activities are a big draw for all ages. From figure skating to ski jumping, half-pipe snowboarding to downhill slalom (like this youngster is trying out), we have a number of winter sports from which our participants can choose.

The current game titles we are using are: Shaun White Snowboarding Road Trip, Winter Sports 2 - The Next Challenge, and Wii Fit.
